Bengaluru: Bangalore University has issued a circular to expel the students of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) who have been admitted in the hostels of Bangalore University from May 1.
Since UVCE College of Engineering has been made an autonomous institution, Bangalore will no longer come under the purview of Vishwavidyya. Thus, grants are not even sanctioned for UVCE students. Therefore, the university has issued an order that the students should vacate their hostels within three days.
AIDSO condemned the order of the university. It said that pushing the students to the streets is an anti-student attitude. By this, the students feel betrayed. The order has been requested to be withdrawn immediately.
On Friday, the office-bearers met the Chancellor and submitted a request demanding a review of this decision.
